About Me

Life is busy! Oftentimes we would like to make improvements to our health but can’t find the time. Or we find it’s difficult to sift through all the different opinions on the internet so we don’t know where to start. You might not be happy to give in to just taking pills for the rest of your life and you may wonder ‘is there is anything I can do to help myself?”

My name is Eleanor Duncan, I’m a registered Nutritional Therapist and have been a registered Diagnostic Radiographer for over 30 years. As a Radiographer I see patients every day, people who have missed the warning signs of declining health not realising how much they can do to stay well. I care for them as I literally see the evidence that lack of awareness has caused on the scans and images in front of me. Sadly, that is not the time when it’s possible to share life changing information with them.

As a Nutritional Therapist I want to use this opportunity to help people delay, avoid or possibly even reverse damaging co-morbidities like high blood pressure, obesity and diabetes. A personalised, targeted approach to diet and lifestyle can have significant life changing affect on well being.

My Background

My background is in medical Imaging having qualified as a diagnostic radiographer in 1989. I’m still active after 33 years of service and registered on the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC), currently specialising in cancer imaging. I started my career as a general Radiographer, specialised in Nuclear Medicine and supplemented my experience with a few years of cross-sectional Imaging (CT and MRI scanning)

I qualified as a Nutritional Therapist in 2019 and I am a member of the Association of Naturopathic Practitioners (ANP). Just before the Coronavirus pandemic I was working as a Senior Research Radiographer in the University of Manchester where I had worked for nearly 12 years and my priority at the time was to support my colleagues on the frontline in the general x-ray department. Like many people, the recent worldwide health crisis has caused me to take pause and consider how my decades of experience can be best used to serve people. I am particularly interested in prevention rather than cure.

My Approach

I believe both allopathic and naturopathic approaches have a place in healthcare. I’m passionate about health and see the value in taking a proactive approach to maintaining health and slowing the onset of chronic illness using nutrition and lifestyle. by making a personalised and strategic plan and guiding clients through that plan step by step. Coming from a background of research and Imaging I like to test and not guess; I gather the evidence and use current research and understanding to implement the plan.

Many men may be fearful of investigations, the thought of being sick, having to take tablets. Many of the men of them hide or ignore problems with inflammation, blood sugar control and difficulty emptying their bladder hoping it will go away.

I trained as a Nutritional Therapist with the intent of moving from the reactive side of health care imaging to the proactive side of supporting the decelerating of chronic illness by addressing the root cause (which is often so ridiculously simple) and moving them away from courses of action almost designed to hasten their demise.
